Lyle Marvin Shepard, 89, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Jan. 21, 2016.
Lyle was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Chillicothe, Mo., to Seba and Lillian Shepard. On March 26, 1949, he married Wanda O’Dell. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. Lyle was a member of Old Salem Christian Union Church. He was a man who loved fishing and RV camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sons, Wayne and Terry; and brothers, Norman, Loyd, Everett and Edward Shepard.
Survivors include his son, Will and wife, Lenora Shepard; daughters-in-law, Juanita and Sabra Shepard; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, also at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
