Dexa Lynn Johnson Stottlemyre, 57, of Excelsior Springs, went to be with The Lord on May 26, 2016. Dexa was born August 27, 1958, in Richmond, MO. She was the ninth child of Lee Roy and Vivian (Mansell) Johnson. She has joined her parents and brothers, Gary and Brad, in Heaven. Dexa will be missed by her Son, Ryan (wife Haley) Kelley and her daughter, Carlene (husband Bari) Allen; and her grandchildren Kyler, Kingston, Gracelyn, Dillon, Jaysea, Candice, and Aubrey; her remaining brothers Terry, Barry, and Greg, and sisters Dolores, Debra, and Dixie; extended family, many friends, and students. Dexa found her purpose and zest for life when she became a teacher at ESHS, and planned to retire at the end of next year. She was a true friend to everyone she met. She shared many laughs and quite a few tears. She would hold a friend up in a time of need, provide encouragement, and cheer when someone she cared for reached an accomplishment. She was full of laughter, and always had the biggest smile on her face. Truly one in a million, time with Dexa was invaluable. A visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31 at Pisgah Baptist Church, 112 Pisgah Drive, Excelsior Springs, MO, from 5-8pm. Her funeral will be held at Pisgah Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 1, at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the i-ROK Foundation or The Special Olympics in her honor.
