David “Jack” Rounds, 84, of Excelsior Springs, Mo. (formerly of Kansas City, Mo.), died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015.
Jack was born Oct. 12, 1931, in Kansas City, Mo., to Clarence A. Rounds and Hazel Lois Worth Rounds. He was a ‘Jack of All Trades’ doing everything from small and large engine repair, fencing and almost anything else asked of him. Jack was fondly known as ‘Grandpa Rounds’ to most of the families in his neighborhood. A symbol of stability to their family, Jack and the former Betty Lou White were married nearly 60 years.
Jack was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Jacklyn; one son, Marcus; his parents; two brothers; and four sisters.
Jack is survived by his wife, Betty Rounds, resident of Lawson Manor and Rehab, Lawson, Mo.; a son, David Rounds and wife, Sonja, of Independence, Mo.; four daughters, Mary (Sis) Chaney, of the home, Dawn Rounds, Dee Rounds Peterson and Loretta Wilson and her husband, Jimmy, all of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at the McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, Mo., with visitation at the chapel from 9 to 10:30 am.
