Seiko ‘Mickey’ Soutter, 84 of Liberty, Missouri, passed from this life into eternal life on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at Northcare Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri. She earned the nickname Mickey because she loved Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse when first coming to the United States.
Seiko Susaki was born in Hirado, Japan, the daughter of Isomitsu and Materino Susaki. Her family were very devout Catholics in Hirado, Japan. For a living, Isomitsu worked at finding water for wells using a dowsing/divining rod. Her father took much pride of owning two cows, one of which Seiko would take for walks.

Once settled in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, she worked at a sewing factory and did seamstress work on the side. She then went to work at Whitaker Cables, forming cables until retirement. In 1974, Seiko was very proud to become a naturalized citizen. After the death of her husband, she came to Liberty, Missouri to live with her daughter.
