Elizabeth Jane Fletcher, 82, of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2018.
Elizabeth Jane Fletcher was born Oct. 7, 1936 to Jessie Lewis and Anna Holthouse in Platte City, Missouri. Anna later married Clyde Leonard, and Elizabeth was joined by siblings James and Joy Leonard.
She grew up and graduated high school in Kansas City, Missouri. Prior to graduating she met and married Victor Junior Fletcher in June 1954. They made their home in North Kansas City until their move to Excelsior Springs in 1962, where they lived until Victor’s death in March of this year.
Elizabeth spent the last seven months in Wyoming with family. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family.
Victor and Elizabeth had two children, Larry Dean and Cheryl Lynn. Elizabeth especially enjoyed family, her church and home making. She worked part time once or twice to help people out, but her life was dedicated to making a home for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor; daughter, Cheryl; granddaughter, Tammy; and her sister, Joy.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Larry (Barbara) Fletcher of Chugwater, Wyoming; brother, James Leonard of Liberty, Missouri; brother-in-law, John of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren: Leslie (Chris) Sanderson, Justin (Lupé) Fletcher, Crystal (Jeff) Anderson, Josh (Melissa) Fletcher, Jason Peterson, Robert (Crystal) Rainwater, William (Jesse) Penick, and Jeremy (Karlissa) Fletcher. Elizabeth had 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from noon-1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, with services following. Burial will be held at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, in Gladstone, Missouri.
