Robert Gerald Horton Jr, 66, of Happy Valley, Oregon, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 27, 2018 at Providence Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. He was born October 26, 1952 in Vincennes, Indiana, to Robert and Clara Horton.
Robert was a 1970 graduate of Excelsior Springs High School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy. Robert graduated from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri, with a degree in business.
He moved to multiple locations throughout the United States during his career. Robert retired from Dunn Electronics in Portland.
His favorite pastimes were fishing and camping, where he spent quality time with his family.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sue Horton of Happy Valley, Oregon; three daughters: Gail and Mauricio Maravi, of The Dalles, Oregon; Janet and Chris Strege, of Portland; Erin Horton and fiancé Eric Vann of The Dalles; three stepsons: Jason Mackenzie and Emmie, of Milwaukie, Oregon, Nick Roberts and Michelle of Milwaukie, Oregon and Charlie Roberts of Canby, Oregon; 10 grandchildren: Natalie, Gabriel, Lydia, Paisley, Dakota, Austin, Cheyenne, Iris, Anthony and Zach; parents: Robert and Clara Horton of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; two brothers: Don Horton and wife Ailene, of Pilot Point, Texas and James Horton and wife Janna, of Smithville, Missouri; and sister Debbie Marrant and husband Matt, of Excelsior Springs. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Rock Falls Baptist Church on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Rock Falls Memorial Fund in honor of Robert Horton Jr.
