Patricia Ann Cedar Heavelow Nash, 78, of Holt, Mo., passed away at home peacefully with her family at her side on Aug. 29, 2015.
Patricia was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo., to John Cedar And Georgia Cavender. Patricia married Paul C. Heavelow in 1951; from that union she had two daughters, Paula Cim Walters of Holt, Mo., and Teresa Gay Rogers and husband, Steve, of Richmond, Mo. She is survived by six stepsons, David, Pat, Mark, Gary and Robert; six grandchildren, Cassie Shay, Christopher Walters, Chad Walters, Chaz Ahart, Jared Allen and Dustin Ahart; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Cedar; and three sisters, Catharine Smith, Victoria Stirwalt and Monica Dye.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sissy; one brother, Charlie; one grandson, John Paul; one stepson, Ronald; and a stepdaughter, Mel.
Patricia had several careers in her youth. She was most notable at Avsco Plastics and The Band Box dress shop. She retired from Williams Shoe Stores in 1984 to be a full-time homemaker to her beloved husband, William James Nash. She married Jim in April 1988, and he passed away in 1996. She also lost a very dear friend, Mr. Arthur Groaner, who passed in 2004. Patricia was an active member of St. Ann Catholic Church of Excelsior Springs.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Excelsior Springs, Mo., with visitation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Fry-Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Kearney, Mo., 816-628-4411.
