James Gerald Keeley, 74, Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Nov. 27, 2015.
James was born Nov. 19, 1941, to James and Frances Keeley in Chicago, Ill., where he was raised and met the love of his life, Mary Ann. James and his family moved to Kansas City, Mo., in 1973. James worked for Jefferson Smurfit until his retirement in 2002.
James was a man of many talents. He enjoyed flying, boating, fishing, gardening and most of all, he loved spending time with his family. James was a smart, witty, loving and gentle man, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; his parents; two children, Cheryl Keeley and James Keeley; and his sister, Mary Reilly.
He is survived by his four children, Carol Dooley, Ruth Creaser and husband, Jim, Kurt Keeley and wife, Kathy, and Gerald Keeley and wife, Amber; two sisters, Kathy Konstant and Dee Taylor; 13 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Excelsior Springs, Mo., with burial following at Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
