George Allen Clark, 76, of Excelsior Springs, Mo. passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016.
George was born February 22, 1940, in Parkville, Mo. He is the son of the late Samuel and the late Nettie E. (Bryant) Clark. He was one of 14 children. On Nov. 25, 1961, he married Janice Faye Riley. He was predeceased by his wife, Janice, on June 1, 2005.
He was employed by Universal Pipeline Company as a Truck Driver and a member of Teamsters Local 541. George was a simple man. He loved to sing and listen to classic country music. He liked anything to do with the outdoors: farming, working with his animals, and working in his garden with the flowers and plants.
In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by 12 siblings.
He is survived by one sister, Donna Jane Campobasso; two daughters; Lisa (Greg) Strickler and Stacy (Mark) Holtzclaw of Liberty, Mo, and two sons; George (Diana) Clark, Jr., and Jon Clark and partner, Jerry Judd; eight grandchildren; Justin Clark, Jeremy Clark, Jennifer Clark, Jalynn Clark, Gregory Strickler, Sammy Strickler, Brittany Holtzclaw and Blake Holtzclaw. George was also the proud great-grandfather of four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Hidden Valley Funeral Home of Excelsior Springs, 5951 MO-10, Excelsior Springs, Mo. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, following the service.
