Mark Alan Pingel
July 11, 1959 – December 16, 2017

Mark Alan Pingel, 58, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mark was born July 11, 1959, to Harry and Joan (Hunt) Pingel in Kansas City, Mo. He was a graduate of Truman High School in Independence, Mo., and of DeVry University. Mark was employed by Henkel Corporation as a machine technician. Mark enjoyed gardening, especially growing sunflowers, watermelon and pumpkins.

Mark was a kind man and a hard worker, who never complained throughout the duration of his cancer treatments. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother, Joan Pingel; sister, Therese (Al Meyer) Smith; brother, Les (Renee) Pingel; brother, Tim Pingel; sister, Elaine Chaddock; and his niece and nephews: Wyatt Edwards, Lauren Smith, Spencer Pingel, Parker Chaddock and Brandon and Kyle Savage.

Visitation will be 2–3 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 19, with Funeral Mass following at St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs, Mo. Private burial at Hillcrest Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorials in his name are suggested to Heifer International.
